Dragon accuracy after long clinics
Does direct dictation accuracy drop after long clinic sessions, or is the bigger problem correction workflow?
Dragon is accurate when I am careful. After a long clinic I am less careful, speak too quickly, and postpone corrections.
That is not entirely Dragon's fault. It is a workflow problem caused by relying on me to finish everything perfectly in the moment.
Exactly. A clean transcript is not the same as a signed letter. When consultants leave rough text behind, the secretary still has to work out what is intended.
Microdoc is stronger for us because the work appears as a queue with a review path, not just text waiting somewhere.
Doctors who correct immediately can make Dragon work very well. Doctors who leave correction until later often create a mess for themselves and their secretaries.
A workflow tool helps if it makes delayed correction safer and more visible.
Late-clinic dictation often has missing names, half-finished plans, or unclear follow-up instructions. The words might be transcribed correctly, but the meaning still needs clarification.
